Below are some helpful resources to help you out over the season, if you have any questions or you think something would be helpful to help out other team managers, please send us another in the form at the bottom of the page.

Please take some time to review the entire document below. It includes information on GotSport Live, Game Day Rosters and check-in, referee fees, Club Pass players, home field setup and tear down, score reporting, red cards, uniforms, and other important league procedures.

2026-27 SOCAL LEAGUE HANDBOOK

Please familiarize yourself with the League Handbook linked at the top of this email, particularly the sections covering:

  • Staff and Player Eligibility
  • Spectator Seating
  • Field Rules

  • Club Pass Players
  • Discipline and Suspensions

New in 2026: GotSport Live App

Beginning this season, SOCAL requires all teams to use the GotSport Live app for game-day procedures. Please download the app and familiarize yourself with it BEFORE your first game. Do not wait until you arrive at the field.

Before the referee can check in your team, a Coach or Team Manager must create the team’s Game Day Roster in GotSport Live.

Once the roster is created, you will access the game’s QR Code in GotSport Live. The referee will scan this code to access the roster and complete team check-in.

Game Schedules

Schedules WILL change throughout the season. Please check BYGA/GotSport regularly for updates.

Coaches, review the entire schedule now for potential coaching conflicts.

Team Managers, please have players/parents confirm their availability for the entire season as early as possible.

If you see a scheduling issue, communicate it to me as early as possible. Do not contact SOCAL directly. League-related issues need to go through the club.

Game Day Instructions using GotSport Live

Referee Fees

Each team is responsible for 50% of the total referee fees. The amount may vary depending on the number of referees assigned to the game, so please review the fee schedule and come prepared with the appropriate amounts and exact change.

Team Managers should make sure the referee money is organized and ready before the game.

Before Every Game

Coaches and Team Managers should make sure the following is completed:

  • Create and confirm the Game Day Roster in GotSport Live.
  • Make sure all participating players and staff are properly listed and eligible.
  • Have digital or printed player/staff cards accessible.
  • Have the QR Code ready for referee check-in.
  • Make sure any Club Pass players have been added ahead of time.
  • Have the correct referee fees ready.
  • Confirm players have both jerseys.
  • Home team should have game balls ready.
  • Arrive early enough to complete check-in without delaying kickoff.

IMPORTANT: Club Pass Players

Club Pass players may be used when appropriate. If you need a player from another CASC team, please coordinate with the player’s regular coach ahead of time.

Remember, Club Pass players must be added to your team through the GotSport website BEFORE the game so they become available when creating the Game Day Roster in GotSport Live.

If you are using a Club Pass player, please reach out to Heidi Strauss, our Club Admin, ahead of time. The player must first be added to your team through the GotSport website before they will appear as available to add to the Game Day Roster in GotSport Live.

Please do not wait until game day to request a Club Pass player.

No Cell Service?

If you know a field has poor or no cell service, print a copy of the team’s Match Day Roster ahead of time and have digital or printed player cards available for check-in.

Home Game Setup – Goals and Corner Flags

For home games, the first CASC team of the day is responsible for setup, and the last CASC team of the day is responsible for tear down and storage.

LA Valley College

  • First Game: Set up the corner flags before kickoff.
  • Last Game: Take down the corner flags and store them behind the shed.

Skyline

  • First Game: Set up the goals and corner flags before kickoff.
  • Last Game: Take down the goals and corner flags and store them in the designated bags.

CVHS

  • First Game: Carefully roll the goals into position and set up the corner flags.
  • Last Game: Return the goals to their designated storage area and put away the corner flags.

Please do not assume another team will handle setup or tear down. If you are the first or last CASC game at the venue, make sure everything is completed properly.

Player Uniforms

PLAYERS MUST ALWAYS BRING BOTH JERSEYS TO EVERY GAME.

Even if you know which color you are scheduled to wear, both jerseys should be in every player’s bag.

Please remind families of this throughout the season.

Reporting your Game Scores

Scores are now handled through GotSport Live.

Goals can be entered live during the game or after the game. You do not need to enter the player who scored or the specific time of the goal.

Before leaving the field, please make sure the final score is accurate.

Red Cards / Send-Offs – IMPORTANT

Player & Staff Send-Offs

Referees will enter all player and staff send-offs into GotSport Live after the game.

However, BOTH teams are responsible for confirming that the referee entered any player/staff send-offs by the end of the game day.

If you notice that a send-off was not reported, please let me know immediately so we can make sure it is properly reported.

Spectator Send-Offs

Spectator send-offs must be reported by the team through GotSport, not the GotSport Live app.

IMPORTANT: SOCAL assesses a $200 penalty each time a team fails to report a red card, double yellow, or ejection involving someone affiliated with their team when it was not properly entered by the referee or team.

Do not leave a red-card issue unresolved or assume someone else reported it.

Parent / Spectator Expectations

Please reinforce our sideline expectations with your families:

  • Support the players and allow the coaches to coach.
  • No sideline coaching. It’s a player’s game.
  • Respect referees, opposing players, coaches, and families.
  • Follow SOCAL spectator seating and field rules.
  • Understand that players will make mistakes. That is part of their development.
  • No approaching coaches immediately following games regarding playing time, positions, decisions, etc. Please follow our 24-Hour Rule.

We want our sidelines to represent CASC appropriately regardless of the score or circumstances of the game.
